I Will Miss This One!

It's been a fun month creating with this adorable June Stamp of the Month and I'll be sad to see this set go!  Only one day left to order before it's gone.  

Here's a little patriotic card with ice cream cones 

to celebrate July 4th.  

I found some retired Blue Ribbon stripe B&T paper in my stash and thought it was perfect for the background.   The scoops of ice cream are stamped on cardstock, then embossed with the Dot Folder.  I love how sanding the dots on the Cranberry and Outdoor Denim makes them pop!  The Celebrate sentiment if from a set called Magical Moments.

Aren't these designs the cutest?

#4 - Here We GO!

Here we GO!  Artfully Sent Cricut Cartridge Week continues with a card that is quite different from the first three cards in that it's not exactly quick, but I DO love it a LOT!

I wanted to make a Sleeve card for today, so after looking at all the great choices in the Artfully Sent booklet, I decided on the pennant design.  All month I've been wanting to make a camper from the ice cream truck in the June Stamp of the Month "Ice Cream Dream", so I paired them together for this fun card!  You might recognize the little passenger in the camper!  He's a celebrity in our CTMH family known as Sticky Boy!

The clouds appear upside down or are they?  The cloud scene design is meant to be turned the opposite direction, but I wanted the clouds to be at the top when inside the sleeve.

The card slides easily out of the sleeve.

I cut the Sleeve card shape from Kraft cardstock at 6" just as the booklet suggests.  The pullout cloud piece from the Scene image is cut at 5 1/2" using Glacier cardstock and backed it with White Daisy cardstock.  This not only made the clouds white, but created a white space to add the sentiment.  The double thickness of this piece makes it easier to slide in and out of the pocket.

The patterned pennants were cut from Jackson and Chalk It Up B&T papers.  I needed to cut the Sleeve out of three different patterns to get the variety of pennants I wanted.

The ice cream truck turned "camper", was stamped and cut out of B&T papers and pieced together for the groovy little RV.  Love the Gold Sequins wheels!  


I popped up the camper, window canopy, and sentiment "Here We Go" (from a Jackson zip strip) with a little 3-D Foam Tape.

Artfully Sent Week Card #3

For this Artfully Sent Card #3, I've used a design from a "sleeve" category in the booklet even though it's actually a card shape.

I love this design because it's super versatile 
and ready for many holidays and occasions.  
I've chosen the Pathfinding paper pack which has a fall look, but I think it can be used year round.  

This card would be adorable with pastel baby prints, fun with school colors for a graduation, and patriotic with red, white and blue for the 4th of July, and many more celebratory occasions! 

Find the design shape on page 7 in the Artfully Sent booklet.  It says to cut it at 7", however, the rebel in me went with a smaller version at 5 1/2" tall x 4 1/2" wide when folded.

The word Celebrate is cut out so you could simply place one piece of solid or patterned paper inside the card allowing it to show through the letter cutouts.  OR go crazy and mix it up with several prints as I have with Pathfinding.  It's so easy to just cut small pieces and attach them to the back of the card front.  This would also be a great way to use up paper scraps from your stash!  Looks a little messy inside, so just cut another piece of cardstock the same color as your card base to cover it up and no will know it's messy underneath.  Shhh, it will be our little secret!

Tip from a "paper scrap hoarder":  Save the letters which are cut from the card to title a scrapbook page!

Accents:  Brown Glitter Paper (punched a few holes with a 1/4" hole punch)

Clear Sparkles and a couple 1/2" leaves cut from the CTMH Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge.  (love my Explore for cutting these itty bitty leaves!)

Artfully Sent Week - Pretty In Pink

 Welcome to Day #2 of Artfully Sent week here at ArtsyMargi!

I'm a little late getting this one posted as I picked and cleaned five gallons of strawberries today.  Sitting down and giving my tootsies a break feels great!

Sometimes a simple card just seems best.  This quick and easy Artfully Sent card was cut in pretty Pixie cardstock and accented with a tiny strip of the beautiful Brushed B&T paper.  

The sentiment is from one of my favorite sets "You Mean the World to Me" stamped in Slate ink.

I cut this Artfully Sent Pocket Card on page 37 at 5 1/4" 

instead of 6".

If you cut the design at 6" it will fit perfectly into a Picture My Life Pocket Scrapbook page.

Artfully Sent Week!

Happy Monday!  It was a fun weekend around here with someone's birthday (who will remain nameless) and Father's Day!  Always the best of times when my daughters are at home!  I hope you had a wonderful weekend as well!

I was having some creative fun making some cards with my Cricut recently.  I totally LOVE the CTMH Exclusive Artfully Sent Cricut Cartridge and decided to share a photo of a different card each day this week!

Here's day #1!  

I love this beautiful design with the floral cutouts.  The booklet says to cut it 7", however, I cut it at 5 1/2" so when folded it's 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" card.  I used White Daisy cardstock to cut the card base and then cut an extra 4 1/2" x 5 1/2" piece of white cardstock to sponge a variety of ink pad colors that would show through the cutouts giving the flowers, leaves and ribbon a soft look.  One might think I had a stencil to sponge the areas so they would line up under the cutouts in the card.  Actually, I just sponged in the areas I guessed would be under the cutout.  Then I would sponge another color next to it, etc.  If the colors overlapped a bit, that was ok.  

If you look closely, you'll see I added 3 little flowers that had been cut out back onto the card with a little 3-D Foam Tape to add a bit of dimension.

Ice Cream Dream

What's your favorite flavor of ice cream?  For me, that's a tough question to answer because I love so many flavors!  I do have a particular fondness for Butter Pecan since that was one of my dad's favorites.  I remember eating a bowl at the table with him in the evening as a child.  Sweet memories of a little girl and her dad.

Baptism Day Card

I was recently asked to make a special Baptism card for my sister-in-law to give her sweet little grandson.  I had seen a ribbon cross idea on Pinterest that I wanted to try, so I dug through my retired Close To My Heart organdy ribbons and pulled out silver.  

I found it to be quite easy to thread the ribbon through punched holes to create the soft and subtle cross.  I attached the ends on the back with some tape and accented the front with a little charm and sparkle.  I really love the different textures on the card with the dotted embossing, the ribbon and the sparkle.

The card is a 5 x 7 giving plenty of space to focus on the cross and embellishments.
