Day #8 is a TBT!

It's Throw Back Thursday for #8 of the Halloween Countdown!

This page makes me laugh out loud every time I see it!  My hubby and I went to a Halloween Party back in 1997 as Lurch and Wednesday from the Addams Family.  We had a blast dressing up and playing the parts of these two kooky characters! 

We're hoping to go to a costume party this year as another kooky couple!

All products B&T papers and stamps are retired.  

Oldies but goodies!  

Day #7 - Boo EEK!

We're on Day #7 on our way to Halloween Day!  

I created this Happy Haunting 6" x 6" card with few of my favorite new products! 

The first step was creating the card background with the awesome CTMH Watercolor Paint set and Brushes!  I wanted a soft wash background so I completely wet the white cardstock with the largest brush using clean water.  Starting at the bottom,  I brushed on the Thistle colored paint gradually moving up the card as it lightened.  Next I picked up the darkest purple color and started in the center of the card and brushed moving further up the card until it faded to light purple.  I finished the painting technique by adding some black across the top of the card and let it fade downward.

After the paint dried, I stamped some Ink Blots with Whisper ink 

around the edges or the card creating a little texture.

Next I jazzed up the edges with a lined border with the Journaling Pen.

I finished this spooky card with the help of my trusty Cricut Explore and the wonderful CTMH Exclusive Artistry Cartridge!  The Happy Haunting overlay design is found on page 45 and cut at 5" tall.  A few clear sparkles colored with a ShinHan Warm Grey marker gave the ghost and bat eyes a little spooky glow!  Other finishing touches include three colors of Silver Shimmer Trim and Thistle Extra Thick Twine.

Day #6 Steampunk Spider

 Hello Day #6!

There's a cool new Halloween stamp set called Steampunk Scoundrels which has some interesting designs. I used the spider on this card with lots of accents and stamping touches.  
I hope you like it!

Need Black Sparkles?  You can use any ShinHan Touch Twin maker and color the accents any color you want!  Love that!

Day #5 Halloween Countdown

A quick Happy Halloween card!  Punch out circles of Halloween print paper.  I used Moonlight on this card, which is retired,  the current paper - Nevermore would be awesome!

Pop up one of the circles with 3D Foam Tape. 

Stamp a sentiment.

Add a spider, because you should....it's Halloween! 

Boo!

Day #4 No Bones About It!

No bones about it, I "dig" this cool skeleton!  
I nearly missed day #4 of the Halloween Countdown,
 so he's dancing in just in time to greet you!

This Moonlight paper was a favorite of mine...ok, I may love all the Halloween papers, but this one had the fun swirly paper with the owls pictured here.  RIP Moonlight papers, you are missed.  The paper pack and stamp set may be retired, but the CTMH Artiste Cricut Cartridge for the tombstone lives on!

Day #3 - Oldie But Goodie!

For Halloween Countdown #3, here's a vintage painting piece from about 1990.  Back before DOTS/Close To My Heart, my days were filled with teaching folk and painting wood pieces of all themes.  Twenty-five years later, I still use this pumpkin box to hold candy 

for our Trick-or-Treaters!  

The front and back of the Pumpkin Box are painted the same 

Jack O'Lantern face.  

The two sides look like this with some orange flowers and leaves.  A little happy folk art from back in the day!

Day #2 - Happy Treats!

Your Halloween treats will look extra sweet in these cute little boxes!  Cut from the CTMH Exclusive Cricut Cartridges, the box and tag make easy and fun packaging.

The Fundamentals Papers work well for these boxes because you can see both sides of the pattern inside and out.  I've used the same papers for both boxes, just reversing them on each.  Give them a try, they're so cute!
