Jack the Wiggly Fishing Bear

I like an Easel Card because it's easy to display and
super easy to make!

I like this card because it makes me smile!

I like this bear because he's so CUTE and he wiggles!

What's not to like about all of that?
I hope you like it too!

3D Foam Tape under the sentiment square will raise it up enough
to support the front of the card to stand up.

You might see just a touch of Gold Shimmer on the bear.
If you're going to wiggle,
you might as well sparkle while you're at it!

Side view showing how the easel card stands
and the little spring behind the bear.

Unfortunately, these fun springs are retired.  Boo....
Happy I stocked up before they were gone.

This Card is a Paper Hug AND it's a Twist and Pop card too!

This style of fancy fold card has been "popping up" lately on Facebook, Pinterest and YouTube. I've enjoyed the many variations I've seen, but I was looking for directions to make a standard size card (4.25" x 5.50") with the simplest steps and technique to use.  I liked Joy Tracey's YouTube video the best (thanks Joy!)  I changed the sizing a bit to create mine as the standard size I was looking for.  See instruction photos at the end of this post.

I used the bright and cheerful colored papers from Little Dreamer, plus a sheet of Thistle and Lagoon cardstock.

The "HUG" letters are from the word Laugh in the May Stamp of the Month Set ~ Live, Laugh, Love.  I just used the last three letters and spelled HUG.

"HUG" Flowers colored with Peony Purple, Pastel Green, Turquoise, Light Orange ShinHan Touch Twin markers.

Leaves stamped on Lagoon cardstock, shade with
For a touch of sparkle, add some Clear Shimmer Brush and a Little Dreamer Glitter Gem or two!

Isn't she the cutest?  I colored her hair with the Clay marker and heart with Peony Purple marker.
Skin is with a flesh colored pencil.  Dress and cheeks are with a Bubble Gum CTMH Watercolor pencil.  I added touches of shimmer to everything on the card with the Clear Shimmer Brush.  LOVE it!

D1711 True Love - Operation Smile Stamp Set
$7 of every purchased stamp goes to Operation Smile!
This set retires July 31, 2017.

Cut and score the pieces as shown.  You can skip the scoring on the 2nd piece by folding it in half, then opening it and folding each end in to meet the your first fold in the center.  Does the trick without the scoring time!

Use a bone folder to get good crisp folds. This will help the Twist and Pop mechanism to work smoothly.

NOTE: Adhere two patterned pieces 4" x 5 1/4" to the inside of your card base before attaching the pop out mechanism (house).  See my card opened up at the top of page.

Lay the 3" x 10" piece flat on top of the attached mechanism, lining up the center fold with the 2 1/8" markings.  Fold back the two ends and add adhesive as shown. Carefully close the card and rub over the top to reinforce the folds.  Open and close it a few times to ensure it works properly.
Add 2 1/4" x 2 3/4" pieces of patterned paper to the 3" x 10" pop out piece.
Decorate as desired.

Glitter and Rainbows and Unicorns, Oh My!

What's more fun than Shimmer (glitter) Trim?  Rainbow colored Shimmer Trim with a magical little Unicorn thrown in for even MORE fun!
Add color, any color you'd like on the White Shimmer Trim or even add it on White Glitter Paper!
It's so quick and easy to do with Sponge Daubers and CTMH Exclusive Stamp Pads.  Just tap the color onto the Shimmer Trim and watch the colors come to life!

Left to Right: Blossom, Tangerine, Canary, Glacier, Lagoon, Thistle
I started on the ends and worked my way toward the middle.  This way I had room for all the colors!

Look at this adorable Unicorn magically prancing across the sky!  It's a fun card with lots of happy!  It's the Unicorn way!

Happy Graduation Card

A card sure to make a graduate smile, especially if it contains some cash!

This is one of my favorite patterned papers from the Seasonal Expressions 1 catalog, which happens to be retiring April 30th.  Grab a pack or two soon!  It's a print from Some Kinda Wonderful and it became a favorite when I saw the idea of adding fun faces on it.  Then I pictured those funny faces with graduation caps!
One thing led to another and this Grad card was born!

The faces are stamped directly on the patterned paper with the Sweet Birthday Stamp Set and a black CTMH stamp pad.
Stamp some graduation caps on scraps of white cardstock, cut them out, and attach them with some foam tape

Who knew? Seashells are Carrots!

It was fun putting a different spin on one of the Swirly Seashells Thin Cuts!  Who knew a shell double as a carrot? There are some tomatoes and sweet potatoes hiding with the shells too! You just need to look for them.  Actually, this die cut could also be an icicle or a tree ornament or more?

For the the carrots, I cut them from Tangerine cardstock and painted them with a bit of darker orange Watercolor Paints, then added gold highlights with a Shimmer Brush.  To top them off, I cut strips of Willow cardstock and snipped the ends to be sort of fringy.  A little staple holds them in place on the carrots and looks super cute too!

The month long 25% off sale on all CTMH Thin Cuts and Thin Cuts/Stamp Sets Bundles is nearly over.  Hurry and take advantage of great prices on some of Close to My Heart's most popular products!

Lot of choices! Check them all out HERE!

Hello Weekend!

Quick. Easy. Cute!

This card can be made in record time with a fast and fun way to add color without taking time with markers, color pencils, paints, etc.

The Heartfelt Hello stamp from the Seasonal Expressions 1 is a sweet design for many occasions or just a simple "hello" card.

I stamped it in CTMH Exclusive Black ink and quickly added some soft Pixie hearts to add a bit of color.  I dabbed a little of my favorite Shimmer Brush in Clear here and there around the hearts.

I used a bit of Some Kind of Wonderful patterned paper and a fun little set called Way to Go which had the heart border and the tiny heart stamps.

Add a little Pixie Baker's Twine and Black Enamel Dots to jazz it up a bit.

See what I mean?  Quick. Easy. Cute!

Can you see the pretty shimmer on the flowers?  Love the Shimmer Brushes, and they're available in Clear and Gold!

I always use CTMH Bulk White Daisy Cards and Envelopes.  50 cards and envys for only $14.95!  With ship/tax they come out to .35 each!  What a deal!

Enjoy your weekend!  I hope you have time for a little artsy creativity!
